The Background
Our client is a Dutch resident buying a property in the French Alps. He wanted the best rate possible on the mortgage and was seeking a low LTV as he had enough liquidity for an important deposit.
Our Approach
The process went relatively fast knowing that it was during the holidays and completely remote. Indeed rather than having to travel to the branch in France to open the bank account, the bank accepted the clients to have the documents legalised in the Netherlands using the city hall officials. On top of that, it was rather easy (regarding the clients profile) to get the lowest rate possible on the actual market, low LTV is often compatible with rate decrease as the bank takes much less risks on its side.
To conclude, We managed to secure a fixed rate over 20 years for 1.50% on a repayment mortgage. From start to finish, it took us 76 days to get the funds released!
