The Banque de France is changing (a bit) its system

Back in July, we explained what the taux d’usure was and went a bit more into it in December as well.
Following the recent difficulties for the banks to be profitable (40% of the mortgage applications were / are being turned down), the Banque de France has decided to review its system.
Rather than implementing the taux d’usure every quarter (October 1st, January 1st, etc….), they will now set it up every month. It will be put in place from February 1st, 2023.
The calculation will still be based on the average of the rates for the past 3 months, but a monthly update will better reflect the reality of the market and be closer to the refinancing rate (which is the rate at which banks buy the money on the market).
That should open up our options a bit!
