The background

Our client was a couple of French expats living in London were looking for an off-plan investment property in the French Alps. The French Alps are quite attractive all year long which makes it the perfect investment spot. 

They wanted to borrow as much as possible and use a limited French company (SARL de Famille) to avoid the inheritance tax in the future and make sure their income tax bill would be as low as possible.

Our Approach

We offered them a 85% LTV on a 25 years repayment mortgage with a fixed interest rate of 2.25% (fixed for the whole duration) for this off-plan property.

The life insurance (mortgage cover) was not mandatory which reduced their overall cost (we always advise our clients to be insured but they already have existing policies in the UK).

There was no requirement for a pledged collateral either which is becoming the norm with a few lenders.
