After 4 years, France is still the top choice for British investors accounting for almost half of the mortgage inquiries this year. Spain is number 2 followed by Portugal.
English people show a real interest for the French property market as it is a good place to invest over the long term. Because of the Eurozone crisis, the strengthen of the Pound against the Euro which leads to boost the budget of the English people, Western European countries become more and more attractive. Additionally, the very low interest rate of the French mortgage and the possibility to borrow up to 85% of the value of a property allow buyers to easily finance their French property mortgage. As for Spain, buyers definitely benefit from a strong bargaining power but take risks if they want to rent their property. The Portuguese market trend is quite similar with a drop in prices of 9% over the past year.
